Origin

Land, wind, and an idea that was not a hotel.

The area has what almost never comes together: a lagoon on one side, the sea on the other, and wind all year round. This is kitesurfing country, and country for people who travel for nature rather than for the tourist circuit.

The idea was never to put up a hotel. It was to design a few units, carefully made, where the guest has real privacy and the landscape does not end up behind a building.

The experience

Few units, a great deal of privacy, and no pretence.

Three bungalows and a house

Three guest units, of one and two bedrooms, each with its own pool and garden. The founder's house sits at the back of the land.

Privacy by design

The circulation avoids straight runs: you reach each unit without walking past the one next to it.

Light and wind

Skylights and orientation worked out for the light of the northeast, and so that the wind, which never stops there, works in our favour.

Sustainable luxury, not decorative

Solar energy for electricity and hot water, its own well with a cistern and rainwater capture, and ecological waste treatment.

The place

Ceará, Brazil.

The project is on the western coast of Ceará, between a natural lagoon and the beach, near a wind farm. The exact location is not published while the project is in development.

Current status

What is done, and what is still open.

Already in place

  • Concept, space programme and descriptive brief.
  • Definition of the audience: nature, beach, kitesurfing and small-scale accommodation.
  • Sustainable infrastructure strategy: energy, water and waste.

Still open

  • Signed architectural project and construction schedule.
  • Visual identity and brand.
  • Photography of the land and its surroundings.
Collaborations

Who it makes sense to talk to.

The project is at the stage where conversations are worth more than finished drawings.

  • Architecture and design with experience in tropical climates and lightweight construction.
  • Small-scale hospitality: operation, experience and service.
  • Suppliers of solar energy, water and ecological sanitation in Ceará.
  • Brands and projects with an affinity for wind, sea and the outdoors.

There is no open investment round and no funding campaign.
